Solomon Kasumba is a multidisciplinary artist, creative entrepreneur, and visionary leader whose life and work revolve around the transformative power of art, purpose, and people. Born in Kenya to celebrated artists Expedito Mwebe and Dorothy Migadde, and raised between Kenya and Uganda, Solomon grew up immersed in creativity, innovation, and resilience. From an early age, he balanced a deep interest in science, invention, and technology with an equally intense passion for the arts. Though he once aspired to become a scientific inventor or aeronautical engineer, it was his love for art and entrepreneurship that ultimately shaped his path.
Over the years, he honed his skills in portraiture, design, and mixed-media expression, eventually turning his talents into a meaningful livelihood. At just 21, he founded Dormi Arts, a family-run art enterprise that evolved into a collaborative creative platform offering portraiture, murals, functional art, and design services. Through Dormi Arts, Solomon mentored young creatives, served clients worldwide, and witnessed firsthand how art can provide both income and impact. His creative journey expanded with the founding of Tangaza Music Inc., a collective dedicated to music, storytelling, and cultural expression that uplifts and empowers.
Now based in the Netherlands, Solomon is pursuing a degree in Creative Business at Inholland University of Applied Sciences. Most recently, he launched Kunst Elevate, an initiative focused on promoting transformative art and exploring how creativity can address social and global challenges. He also founded Campus Ignite, a university-based event series designed to build community, inspire purpose-driven living, and connect students through meaningful dialogue and collaboration.
With over 15 years of experience in portrait-making, Solomon is widely known for his realistic portraits. having drawn hundreds of faces in Kampala, Nairobi, Amsterdam, Haarlem, and Molbergen. His live portrait sessions are as much about human connection as they are about art—raw, spontaneous moments of creativity paired with heartfelt conversation.
Solomon’s work is deeply rooted in his faith in God, his commitment to service, and his belief that art is not only a form of self-expression but also a vehicle for healing, inspiration, and positive change. His vision is global: to travel the world using art, entrepreneurship, and philanthropy as tools to uplift communities, spark meaningful dialogue, and help create a more compassionate, creative, and connected world.

I’m passionate about exploring new ideas, discovering new places, and immersing myself in music—whether through singing, writing, or composing. I thrive on solving problems, fixing things, and finding creative solutions that make a difference. Personal growth is a constant pursuit; I actively seek knowledge and content that sharpens my thinking and enriches my journey. Nature, adventure, and beautiful environments inspire me, offering space for reflection and vision-building. From the time I was little, art was always part of my life. I studied it as a school subject, but for years, I was just an ordinary art student—no exceptional abilities, no spark that set me apart. It wasn’t until high school that everything changed.
In high school, I encountered a transformative approach to art. My teachers encouraged us to explore, to push boundaries and to express ourselves in ways that ignited our creativity. This freedom to experiment was a turning point for me. As an adventurous person by nature, I thrived in this environment of discovery. I explored various mediums—charcoal, watercolor, pencil, and more—each revealing a hidden layer of talent I didn’t realize I possessed.
For me, Art is a window into the boundless landscapes of the artist’s mind—a reflection of how one perceives the world and chooses to engage with it. It offers the artist the liberty to journey beyond boundaries, to reimagine the world, and to recreate it through hands and vision. Art is not merely a mirror; it is a portal, a medium through which the intangible becomes tangible. While I have always appreciated the aesthetic beauty of art, its true impact lies in the transformation it brings to people and spaces. This perspective has been deeply shaped by nearly a decade of creating functional art through my company, Dormi Arts. Through countless projects, I came to value art not only for its visual appeal but also for its ability to serve practical purposes and enrich daily life.
Ultimately, creating art is not an end in itself but a channel for something greater. It is a tool for transformation, empowerment, and inspiration.
