MY ART OF SEEING PEOPLE

Welcome to my Portrait Studio!

I have been creating portraits for 15 years and it is a facet of my art-making that I deeply enjoy and appreciate. Each portrait I create is not just about capturing a face but about encountering a person with a unique story and essence.

I believe a portrait immortalizes the very being and spirit of an individual, and that is my primary goal for every project—to capture likeness and life in a way that speaks volumes about the person.

Every portrait is different, presenting its own intricacies, making each project a new and exciting experience that I always look forward to.

Types of Portraits I do

Quick, expressive charcoal sketches that capture your character—drawn live or from a photo.

Timeless, detailed portraits crafted with care—perfect for honoring moments, milestones and the people who matter most.

Elegant, professional artworks that celebrate leadership, legacy and institutional milestones with distinction.

Lively, exaggerated portraits that add humor, charm, and personality to any face or occasion.

Caricatures

My Media

Watercolour Portraits

Watercolor portraits have that delicate, ethereal quality that makes them truly captivating. The fluid nature of the medium allows for soft transitions, vibrant washes and subtle transparency, bringing a sense of lightness and spontaneity to each piece.

The unpredictability of watercolors adds a unique character to every portrait, making each stroke feel alive and expressive. Whether in rich, layered tones or airy, minimalist washes, my watercolor portraits beautifully capture emotion and essence with a timeless and artistic touch.

Charcoal Portraits

Charcoal is the very first medium I used when starting portraiture and it remains one of my favorite  due to its incredible versatility.

Whether i want to achieve  a bold, expressive portrait with dramatic strokes or a soft, delicate rendering with subtle tones, charcoal allows for remarkable depth, contrast, and raw emotion.

If you appreciate the timeless charm of classic, hand-drawn artistry, a charcoal portrait could be the perfect choice for you

Oil Portraits

Whether bold and expressive or soft and classical,  to me each oil portrait is a masterpiece with its depth of color, texture and fine detail. When painting with oil enjoy seeing portraits come alive, preserving expressions, moods and personalities in a way that stands the test of time.

Oil portraits have a timeless depth and richness that make them truly captivating. The slow-drying nature of oil paint allows for seamless blending, creating soft transitions of light and shadow that bring incredible realism and emotion to a piece.

Pastel Portraits

As the latest medium added to my portraiture,  pastel portraits are vibrant and expressive, offering a unique blend of softness and richness. Their delicate texture allows for beautifully blended tones while still capturing intricate details, creating portraits that feel both luminous and full of life. Their velvety finish gives a natural warmth, making them perfect for capturing emotion and personality with a gentle, painterly touch.

Why have a portrait?

A portrait is more than just an image — it’s a powerful way to honor a moment, a memory, or a loved one. It captures personality, emotion and essence in a timeless form that only grows in value over time across generations - in ways that photographs often can't. Whether it's for yourself or someone special, getting a portrait is a meaningful investment in legacy, beauty and personal expression.

As an artist

I've seen how much joy and meaning a portrait can bring—watching my clients light up when they see themselves captured in art is something I’ll never get tired of. That’s why I always say: visit your favorite portraitist and get yourself a piece you’ll treasure forever.
