Portrait commissioning

STEPS

1: Inquiry and Consultation

Reach out to the artist via email, social media, or their website. Discuss your vision, including size, medium (pencil, charcoal, oil, etc.), and specific details. Share reference photos or arrange a live sitting if applicable.

2: Quote & Agreement

The artist provides a price estimate based on complexity, size, and medium. Payment terms, timelines, and any special requests are agreed upon. A contract or written agreement may be signed for clarity.

3: Deposit & Confirmation

A deposit (typically 30–50% of the total cost) secures your commission. The artist confirms the start date and expected delivery timeline.

4: Sketch & Approval

The artist creates an initial sketch or composition layout. You review and provide feedback before the detailed work begins.

5: Finalization & Detailing

The artist completes the portrait, refining details, textures, and finishing touches. Progress updates may be shared if requested.

6: Final Review & Adjustments

You receive images of the finished piece for approval. Minor revisions (if needed) are made before finalizing the artwork.

7: Final Payment & Delivery

The remaining balance is paid. The artwork is carefully packaged and shipped or delivered in person. If digital, the high-resolution file is sent securely.

8: Unveiling & Enjoyment

Receive and display your unique, handcrafted portrait. Optionally, share your experience with the artist or on social media.
